Living Poem by Mpho Nkadimeng

Living

Rating: 5.0

Ever tasted life so meaningless
Like specks of dust covering your pores
Lungs suffocating from your breath
Every hair strand resembles
A long life death sentence
And your mind is a prison
Guarded by thoughts of anguish
Like you have snakes in your stomach
Feasting on your intestines
While clotting your veins with poison
Like you heal to break over and over
Like your present has been your past
And your future is a void giving birth to confusion
Like your fingerprints are a portrait of your shame
And the mirror is there to coach you on how to bury yourself
Every meal tastes like rotten molecules
Because your blood cells have lost their purpose
Like your voice is the greatest indication of annoyance
And the ultimate problem to human sins
Like every atom that makes you you
Tries to break free from your being
Like your neurons become a chemical reaction
And your heart is a time bomb
A point where your skin is not in sync with your soul
And your body is a tomb for your spirit
Like you are a nightmare to your existence
And a role model to nightmares
