Lost Pride Poem by Mpho Nkadimeng

Lost Pride

beats of time thumbing to hearts laid in shacks
They whisper hymns of dimensions from minds in the dark
Sing them a song
That reveals fossils of tears under raindrops
And broken souls pinned to mud Struggling to pump blood
With their finger tips fading in winter tales
Sing them a song of black stars
With past scars
Lashing their innocence with time
Let them hear it echo from galaxies in their souls
While it plants a garden of lost pride
So to forgive memories Watered by loss
Lost black roses
Preys of solitude
With cracks of void dancing
To tunes of falling pieces of their broken hearts
Please sing them a song
That illuminates their crescent souls that are
Forever fading in a loop of white lies
Owning their days to leave them parted
Sing so their past can dance to kings it wished of them to be
Black ribbons hovering in the wind
flowing to tunes of their black child.
