Liu Xiaobo: A Tribute Poem by Leonard Dabydeen

Liu Xiaobo: A Tribute

Cut
my tongue
and I shall
still speak to you
with voice of freedom you cannot muzzle.

Your stubbornness is your weakness I hold
in the palm of
my open
restless
mind.

Give
freedom
a fighting
chance to breathe here
I will have no grudge against you again.

Sunshine comes to your backyard without fear
brightening your
lawn with hope
of fresh
grass.
