Listening To The Oldies Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Listening To The Oldies

Rating: 5.0

Listening to the old tunes
Reminding me of a past scene
Making me feel reminiscent
Of a pony tailed girl of fourteen

Wearing black and white saddle shoes
Displaying confidence; such a pretense
Blushing when seeing a certain boy…
Going to the movies for fifty cents

As yes, I remember them so well. I remember the hoop Poodle skirts and the sock hops - waiting for that 'certain boy' to ask me to dance, the excitement of it all. I wrote a poem called The 50's that describes that era. Great poem, Theresa! Marilyn
