Lilac Bush Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Lilac Bush

For as long as I can remember
you have shared your presence;
Like a close family member
holding firm…staying in attendance

You have seen many milestones
for more than three generations
Your span has multiplied and grown…
Accepting each day without expectation

Witnessing without judgement or scorn
Never revealing a single spoken word
Enduring drought and badgering storms
Continuing to flourish… never deterred

Somehow you give comfort and joy
As each spring your loveliness resumes
You revive what time tries to destroy...
I am invigorated by your fragrant blooms

A lovely sensitive piece - compare my poem 'A Loquat Tree's Wish'.
