Lifeboat Poem by Alice Lupin

Lifeboat

A wink
A spell
A time to be
A beat
A moment
Of peace
Of sleep

The morning intrudes into my room
And Unwanted light creeps in
dragging in it’s wing the gloom
Of the sun’s unwanted grin

Sun, let me keep
A spell of sleep
A wink of dreams
A little rest
Some time to breath
Some time to heal and be

For I feel just a lifeboat
Upon unsteady seas..
