Lets It Fall, As I See This Kite Poem by Daniel Trevelyn Joseph

Lets It Fall, As I See This Kite

He dropped it on the waters
Of the Mithi river, while I am
Watching from the skywalk.
He has a gorgeous brown color
With a flag of peace on chest.

Maybe it was not fish expected,
Or it was too heavy to carry;
Across the river the egret flew steady
In straight line close to water
Above the slowly ebbing tide.

Back among the green foliage
The brahminy kite perched
Showing the bright white patch afar,
And below, three other egrets perched

At equal intervals on Dharavi bank,
Peacefully having divided territory
Unlike human kings or countries
Who depend on war for this.
