Lavender Rose And Dust Poem by Shruti Goswami

Lavender Rose And Dust

I was just a naïve child
Floating in the skies
You just another one
Walking past by.

We had just
Smiles to offer
Each other
But I
I beg to differ
We had much more than that
An everlasting friendship
Like deciduous leaves.

And I was shy
The days they went by
And memories smelt
Like lavender and dust.

You said
You were a different kind then
Nowhere near to be tamed
An eternal vagabond
I too was one
Deep down in the mind.

And we met
Only to part in our ways
You were wild and exploring
Me, the domesticated kind.

But love knows
No tempering
And fire rose
In the deepest recess of our minds.
Now we met
And I said
You are the only one
I was looking for
You were here all along
And I never found.

You believed
It should have happened long ago
I was naïve and foolish
All at one go.

And now the memories
That we shall create
Together in a flow
They would smell
Of roses and love
And all that we found
Would never ever go.
