Just A Connection Poem by Tina Mack

Do you not feel what I feel?
Do not desire more than a superficial connection?
When I want to say how I feel the words just never seem to come out
And even though my mind knows exactly what to say the words just can’t seem to reach my mouth.
I’m left with a hopeless feeling that sites heavy in my stomach
For I know that you won’t lose a minute of sleep over me
You’ll drown yourself in those things which bring you comfort and blame me for my pain
Do you not feel what I feel?
Do not desire more than a superficial connection?
