Introduction Poem by Nika McGuin

Introduction

Rating: 2.8

Stompin' the turf
with class
with sass
mystery be her mass

Beet red lipstick
hair bigger than day
she don't want your man
no how, no way!

Bearing thick black lashes
fanning the sway of seduction
I got your phenomenal woman
and then some, no reduction
I write my own introduction

WOW! This woman takes no prisoners! What confidence, what daring, what - I can't find the words that fit her because you've used them already. Garrison Keillor of the Prairie Home Companion radio show once said of one of his performers, When Claudia Schmitt sings a song it stays sung! Somehow that statement applies to the woman of your poem. And her strength of character is admirable, but she doesn't need me to endorse her. She's her own best judge. I love the clever rhyme in the last two lines!
