Into A Butterfly Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Into A Butterfly

Into a butterfly
- - - - - - - - - - -
If I were a flower
I would have been happier ever
For seeing her upon me
And upon many a flower
And her play, her tease, her chase
Would have brought me heaven nearer

From a hermetic place
Looking like a heaven but a cocoon
A new life emerges
With bright sunshine
Warming her wings
Soon she will fly
To blue sky with her coloured wings

In our winter's dark womb
Hope stirs like that of a tiny butterfly
And we wish
If someone were there
To care us in time of despair
Like the whisper of spring
Gently rippling dreams' layer

If love like warmth of sun
Is caressed and let in
Like spring in our heart
Will emerge a new life herein, my dear
If you are feeling lost
In that damp, cold cocoon
Let sunshine of love warm your wings

To enable you like a butterfly
To fly to heaven
So let love be awake
From sleepy conscience
To warm your heart
To dry your tears
To transform you into a butterfly
