Inseperable Poem by louis rams

Inseperable

Inseparable

For so many years you have had my heart
Now we seem to be drifting apart.
That sparkle in your eyes is no longer there
It was something we both had shared.
We would walk down the street hand in hand
In our own wonder land.
All the things that we had done together
Made life seem so much better.
we seemed inseparable- nothing could keep us apart
for you had my soul, you had my heart.
I know we are no longer in our youthful years
And you seem to have some fears.
But you can put them all to rest, for in me you bring out the best.
Let me reignite that spark again, for ours is a love that can never end.
Just as the sun tends to rise, I will put that spark back in your eyes
And as the moon leaves the darkness to greet the light
I will never give up this fight.

What a lovely poem of devotion and determination, just in time for Valentine's Day! Making the point that commitment is the glue that holds enduring relationships together. A friend told me today that she thinks Valentine's Day is all about commercialism. I think it's about romance, and sweethearts. But the best of relationships require hard work. You said it well, Louis!
