But the Hindustanimen
In dhoti & kurta,
Pagadi & gamaccha
Without the slippers
Going with bundles and water-pots,
Their life and narratives
Centring around
Ghumtawallis and purdahallis
Of the muddy country,
Thatched and straw-roofed?
