In The Late Night Longing Poem by Shalom Freedman

In The Late Night Longing

IN THE LATE NIGHT LONGING

In the late night longing
The memories of being young
The thought of the love that is not
The beauty that is gone forever
The life and the world which cannot return
In the late night longing and loneliness
There is only the pain
Of what knows one will never be and never have again.
