In The End Poem by Samantha Jenks

In The End

Tears fall like petals from the wilted flower
Rivers run and flood
Sweep the dust away
Atop the mantle wind the clock
Put the picture in its place
Strike the light bare spark and glow
Resonating echo of the wind
Mere beat of the heart
Sand through the hour glass slows
Bare feet find soil
Feet walk over smoldering embers
Exchanging tokens of soul with the night
Step out to the platform
Taste sparks of light with my tongue
Lithe like the trees blowing in the wind
Each delicate breath is in itself lovely
Till the cessation commences
And in the end I digress to regress
And become one with nature once again
