In Joy Poem by Vera Sidhwa

In Joy

In Joy my Fellow Man

In joy I believed in my fellow man.
I tried to look away but could not.
My fellow man was beautiful to look at
And to hear and to talk to.

My fellow man struggled against life
As best as he could.
His accent so delicate,
Like delicate food.

My fellow man with different colors,
Looked at each other all day.
I looked at all of them.
From looking at them I couldn't stray.

In joy I believed in my fellow man.
I tried to look away but did not.
My fellow man was so beautiful to look at.
And this love was what is was all about.
