Impersonal Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Impersonal

Impersonal.
Caring less what is done.
Or said to others to do.
As if distanced from being human.
Are today's people.
With their 'me' first attitudes.
Making it difficult for many,
To openly express sincerity.
Without receiving respect to get.
Or expect it to come.
As if this to accept.

Impersonal.
Even those who once perceived,
They had close relationships.
Only to become disappointed,
By someone's thoughtlessness.

And,
If others who had been taken for granted,
Begin to exchange...
The same perception of a selfishness.
They become the ones claimed,
To have changed.
With it then to have them blamed,
For not being themselves.
As if they had been,
And were...
Personal.
Thoughtful.
Sincere to believe it people.
