Imagine Poem by Timothy Ko.

Imagine

I sit alone in this dark place
Going through an endless race
My mind raced off too fast for me
Couldn't catch it, couldn't break free
To recollect what was flying by
I closed my eyes to see the sky
It took a while but the colors came
Which never seemed to stay the same
Something beautiful here and there
Wanted to pack it so as to share
As long as my eyes were shut
Pure the images that stayed uncut
For all the sight that I longed for
Was made a vision that my mind poured
Bright and radiant the colors were
More than those offered by nature
But as reality started to slowly creep
I covered my eyes and started to weep
Desperately trying to hold on to
Hopes and dreams that help me through
Images blown by a gust of wind
Seemed to fly away with a wink
Teasing me so as I would run
But stuck was I with a bit of stun
Then as soon as it was taken away
Darkness came with want to play
Leaving me with misery again
Never to leave me, forever drenched
Open my eyes to find myself
In the place I have always dwelt
