If You Only New Poem by Janet Mulligan

If You Only New

A touch of the hand, and a soft, gentle smile
This feeling of belonging and still so fragile
Hardly making sense of us most often
Was it really a need to just be softened?
Courting is done or I never really persisted
Yet there is substance within our existence
Right you are for telling me off
I thank you for the double cross
I thank you for my knew pair of glasses
Each moment with you is a new chance to see
Where are we going?
Where should we be?
Hold that tongue and quiet that chatter
It's making your soul much so much fatter
I'm speaking to you when I don't use my words
I'm speaking to you when my actions are louder
I'm speaking to you when you feel that power
Use the gifts I bestow upon you
See yourself and your growing character view
What is my intent for becoming newly eternal?
How does this change me forever internal?
Why is this happening and has it great merit?
Change in processing is changing us loftily
Thus I have learned to speak to you softly
Because lovingly I must live with much posterity
I don't seek change because it seeks me
I seek change because it's always hard to see
You are maddeningly lovely
Life is fun lived relating with you
It's hard to relate when it's only me understanding
Remember that love is the light and we are always transcending
