If I Make It Poem by Lawerence Mize, Sr.

If I Make It

Rating: 5.0

If I make it to January
it'll be three good years
The stents keep me going
with nothing to fear

The clock keeps ticking
time continues on its way
Thankful for every morning
alive for another day

I followed doctors orders
ate right and exercised
Took a few cruises
learned to smile along the way

Had a little heartache
some really bad days
Lost a brother...friends too
the hurt wouldn't go away

If I make it to January
I'll look forward to another year
Cherish every minute
every laugh every tear
