If I Had A Daughter Poem by Randy McClave

If I Had A Daughter

If I had a daughter I would name her Greta
She, would be an environmentalist beta,
Like me she would also be a aggressive fighter
And she too would be fierce inciter.
She would stand staunchly for what she believed in
And she wouldn't be afraid of the devil or of any men,
When I was a boxer I always took on all top seeders
She instead would be taking on all world leaders.
She would take action for climate change mitigation
And she would be my pride and hopefully the pride of her nation,
She would want and fight to reduce our carbon footprint
Trying and hoping to bring our environment back to mint.
I would love her even though the world may not
For believing in what she had been honestly self taught,
We must all stand against climate change
And to fight against it, is not crazy or stupid or derange.
The world is our home and also our shelter
And unto Mother Nature we are showing how we hate her,
The water in her house are the rivers and oceans and seas
And the floors and the decorations is the grass and trees.
In our homes would we allow carbon smoke and litter
Unto that wouldn't we all be bitter,
And don't we all want our homes clean and respected
And not filthy, trashy, ignored and smelly and neglected.
Unto the world about her beliefs I would want her to be true
And I would be proud of her to scream, "How Dare You",
I have a son and he's my pride and he's a fighter like me
And if I had a daughter, Greta her name would be.
