I Wish To Be There Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

I Wish To Be There

There's so much resistance
When you go to touch
Think you know the answer
cause my actions is enough
Which should convince you
i'm really out of your reach
I exit your mental
grasp of reality by
closing, closing my heart
For a knight in shinning
armour to rescue me
Taking, taking his hand
At his glorious command

I just opened my eyes
Then closed them
Exhaling once
And remembered when
Somewhere before
A distant memory
in a time that i cared
experienced what is rare
So when i open my eyes
I wish to be there

There's no need to be overcome
by anger, tears and sadness
If your heart is broken
The hurt will still remain
It wasn't written in the novel
It wasn't apart of the tale
It's an epic story that speaks of
a love that many will come to hail
closing, closing my heart
For a knight in shinning armour
to rescue me
Taking, taking his hand
At his glorious command

Vision a love
where you feel complete
A hand to hold and
there you greet
The future of perpetual bliss
Where love provides you
warmth and tenderness
