I Was, I Am Poem by martin lawler

I Was, I Am

« I was, I am »

I was thinking out aloud
Was forking out too much
I was clocking in too soon
And backing out too late
Was ticking off the cat
For mewing like a clock
But now I've changed my ways
Stopped knocking over shops
Am only stalking deer
I'm sticking to a pan
No, I'm sticking to a plan

Better to stick to a plan than a pan, indeed!
