I Saw The Picture Poem by Vera Sidhwa

I Saw The Picture

I Saw the Picture

I saw the picture,
In it's innate beauty.
But the light slanted on it,
Troubled me.

The plight this picture,
Was depicting,
Was the kind I did not wish to see.
The war of the darkness and light.

This war seemed to rage on forever,
In this beautiful picture of light.
In this the ideas in my mind,
Never solved the story this picture showed.
