I Pray Poem by Alvaro Minor

I Pray

Rating: 5.0

God,
I pray that you watch over my friends
I pray that when they are blind and can't see, you would give them a new lens
I wish them the best.
That their heart remain calm beneath their chest.
I pray that they may sleep.
I pray that you are there in the late nights and their young eyes weep.

God,
I pray that someday they come to you.
That they would recognize that it was you who pulled them through.
I pray that even when their thoughts get askew.
That they would know your love is true.

God,
I pray that you would give them the strength to reach their full length.
I pray that they wouldn't have easy so they could learn.
That the glory to you they would return.
I pray that their heart would stay green just like a fern.
That the evil with your wisdom they would discern.

God,
I pray that, there is more to life than money they would recognize.
I pray that their principles they would never compromise.
That their heart would listen to The wise,
because in this world the flesh always dies.
I pray that in you they would find their purpose,
and that they would go past just the surface.
I pray that they would be at your service.

God,
I pray that they would know that you live on and on,
that you are never gone, unlike the dawn.
I pray that to your hand they would hold on.
That at the end of the day they kneel beside their bed
and pray thanks because your son bled.
I pray that your word they would spread.
