God,
I pray that you watch over my friends
I pray that when they are blind and can't see, you would give them a new lens
I wish them the best.

Spring Green Eyes

An ordinary day
of nothing to be afraid.
He walked in with confidence
but it all dissipated when he saw her.

He noticed her from a distance
and thought this he would never forget,
Whoa, what a pretty girl.
She lifted her head and his feet felt like lead.
Her spring green eyes penetrated through
his own wintery brown.

The boy young but not naïve
could not speak.
Her smile a grace, hard to replace.
Her fair skin common in this new world,
but to him distinct and beautiful.
To the rest she seemed timid
but to him confident.
She was and is who she is without fear,
reserved yet so open.
Everybody thought that she had never spoken.

Since he has known her he has really changed,
all because those few words were exchanged.
Beyond those eyes
lies a great mind in disguise.
Without even saying a word
she motivated him to do his best,
for once he knew his skills would be put to the test.

Her eyes give him strength on the long road,
He is a better person because of her.
Despite the ups and downs,
there isn't a day that he doesn't appreciate her.
He has known her for more than two count years.
He thanks God above all
for putting such a beautiful person in his life.

Now a young man
he still can't help
but look at her fiery green eyes,
who's flames are engraved and burn bright in his mind.
