I Only See The Pain Poem by Karla Bell

I Only See The Pain

Rating: 3.0

When I look into your eyes
I only see the pain,
I only recognise it
Because I think I’ve seen the same
I can look the other way
I can cover it in words
I can pretend what I see is sunshine
But that would be absurd
We chase the pretty butterflies
And hope that they will rest
So we can see them for all their beauty
And at their very best.
But soon their gonna fly
And things wont seem them same
Because what we see in its place
Is nastiness and blame.
we travel rocky roads
So often sung about
Are the tear stains on your face
You’d rather do with out
