This time of year I think about
My dad and it hurts my heart
I miss him so very much
I hate that we had to part.

Oh, God, if you could only
Let me know that he is okay
I wish so much I could see him
So sad that he had could not stay.

But I must pull myself back
To life as it is right now
He was my star, my shining light
I must live without him somehow.

But then, I hope to see him again
I truly believe that it could be
I cherish the wonderful memories
That my special dad gave to me.
