I'Ll Miss You, Nanu Poem by Lauren Pandy

I'Ll Miss You, Nanu

It hurts a hurt so deep inside
It's the kind of hurting
That never goes away

I will never forget
Your quirky humor
Your patient ears
Your soft, yet outspoken, tongue
Your accepting nature
Your warming presence
Your memories

The loneliness and the pain
Will always be there
I know for a fact
Some days will be
Harder to bear

When I came to visit you
And I saw you lying there
Squirming in agony
All I could do was hold your hand
And fight those tears
That so desperately
Wanted to be free
My tears have come and gone
They will continue to do so

I just kept wishing and wishing
And I am still wishing
That there was something I could do
To ease your tortured body and mind

Nothing matters anymore
You are absent from this world
And present in another
You are in no more pain
You are happy

I want to go see you
But I can't
You're not here
And you're not coming back
Ever
This hurts
