Is This Clear Enough For You, Dear? Poem by Lauren Pandy

Is This Clear Enough For You, Dear?

Fragile is my wounded heart and frail is my soul
I will not forget your part in creating this hole
You thought that you could bring me down and make me feel so low
But it is I who wears the crown and carries out the blow
You thought you got away scott free, well I've got news for you
This trip ain't no damn shopping spree, this ride ain't made for two!
I guess I didn't love the REAL you, you thought you had a good ploy
But now I must bid you adieu, I'm too free to be your toy
I hope you find somebody who treats you the same way
I know you won't say sorry, you know not how to say
I hope for your sake you will learn a lesson from this rhyme
Although I highly doubt it, all good things come in time
So until the day I long for comes, I must wait in angst
There is only one thing from you that I'll always give my thanks
Even though he's of your seed, he's the best gift you ever gave me
The joys of having a son and a family who loves him makes me very lucky
We share so many memories, some good, but most are bad
They are forever tied together and not for Gabriel to have
I'm very thankful that I met you but you'll never see
That you were a life meant to make a stronger and better me
So please take these words with you and remember this one thing
No matter what you do to me, I'll still forever sing
My feelings and my heart were only toys for you
But now I am now much strogner and starting life anew
No matter what you do or say it doesn't really matter
All my friends and family are helping me get better
You can sulk and pout all you want, but it's over now
I'm better because I met you and you'll never know why or how
