I Have A Sword Poem by Randy McClave

I Have A Sword

I need not a weapon that will indiscriminately kill a lot

While claiming to protect myself and my family is my only thought,

A rifle can also accidentally kill anyone on the spot

Sadly though, hatred like weapons are so easily sold and bought.

A gun can kill strangers from a hundred yards away

An automatic weapon can kill quicker than to God we can pray,

Besides war, who needs to kill many at one time I need to say

Why need arsenals for protection in our so-called Christian U.S.A?

I will always remember the words and acts of my savior and Lord

So, from my faith and belief automatic weapons I need not hoard,

To protect and defend my family will be my first and final reward;

I have a sword.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I am currently vacationing in Japan, in the house I am staying at in one room is the traditional decoramentive Japanese Sword. Here in Japan unlike the U.S you see no one carrying guns, nor see gun stores or gun magazines, and so of course gun related deaths and violence are a near zero.

Strategical fight against gunning as exposed through your writing, it needs two things to combat these social disaster..... One is always remember the words and acts of my savior and Lord and other one faith and belief. I mark it as a good poem. Thanks.
