I Don't Know How To Let Go Poem by Mark Heathcote

I Don't Know How To Let Go

I don't know how to let go
I don't know how to release the evening sun
I don't know how to leave you (also)
I don't know how to end a song
All I know is how to cry and sing
All I know is how to fall in love with you again
Over and over again
Over and over again
The touch of your hand
The warmth of your skin
I don't know how to leave you
I don't know how to let go
I don't know how to end a love song
All I know is how to cry and sing
All I know is how to fall in love with you again
Over and over again
Over and over again
Oh, I'm looking at you, my polar north and south
My east and west, the ache in my chest
And I don't know how to ask the winds of change
To glide on by without a wave of goodbye
A kiss from the one I'm frozen fast to for all eternity.
I don't know how to let go
I don't know how to release the evening sun
I don't know how to leave you
I don't know how to end a song
All I know is how to cry and sing
All I know is how to fall in love with you again
Over and over again
Over and over again
All I know is how to sleep in your arms
Amongst moonlit stars
All I know is I'll be this way
Till the end of my days.
