I'D Never Seen Us In Love Poem by Rachel BaByBeAr Anderson

I'D Never Seen Us In Love

If I had ever tried to run before I must be sprinting now
I never wanted to find any of this
I had never decided to start looking
If I had ever been hurting before I must be screaming now
I never thought anything would hurt this much
I had always thought it would be different
I wanted it to be as I'd pictured
If I'd been falling before I must be crashing now
I never realised I'd been sinking
I had always thought it would be lifting
I needed it to bring me out of the clouds
If I was angry before I must be furious now
I never thought you'd be like this
I had always seen you as something less
I'd wanted to keep it that way
If I was searching before Im lost now
I never know when to stop
I had never learned enough self control
I had always found other ways
If I was lying before Im telling the truth now
I never wanted it to be this way but you did it
I had never thought of falling
I had never seen us in love

A well-structured poem (I like the refrain 'If I had... I must be...') and clearly heart-felt.
