I Cannot Go Back To Where I Once Was Happiest
I CANNOT GO BACK TO WHERE I ONCE WAS HAPPIEST
I cannot go back to where I once was happiest-
I cannot go forward to a happiness unknown.
I can only remain where I am now
For as long as I can remain here.
Happy sometimes,
Happy on occasion,
Happy in spite of and along with all the unhappiness.
I can only be a bit and somewhat happy sometimes-
That’s all there is for me
Now and to the end.
