I Can(T) Continue Onwards Poem by Sierra Staten

I Can(T) Continue Onwards

What do I do when nobody is there?
When my closest friends betray me and leave me to decide on my own, whether my life should be spared?
I can't blame you for leaving me but it was an evil thing to do, to leave my in my time of need.
I can't think for myself.
I'm lost in all these overwhelming thoughts of what to do
and even I am oblivious to my constant cry for help.
I need someone.
Even a complete stranger, I need someone to assure me it's alright.
We live in a world where nobody is willing to lend a hand-
A world of greed and selfishness.
And I'm left in this horrid place to decide for myself
whether I should be allowed to continue my life.
I can't.
I can't continue onwards.
Yet, I need somebody to tell me that I can.
