Hush Poem by Jenna Rose Johnston

Hush

Hush little baby don't you cry, I know daddy's not here to sing you a lullaby.
Hush my dear, you'll be alright, pray that your angel comes tonight.
Hush sweet child you'll survive, don't let them know you're not alright.
Hush my girl, don't you dare cry, wasting tears on them isn't right.
Hush now girl, I know the world is cruel, don't yet them destroy what you hold true.
Hush, now your hair has grown grey, but you know there won't be anyone at your grave.

This is beautifully morbid. It's like a morbid twist on an answering nursery rhyme. It's sad and sweet all at the same time.
