Howrah Bridge
The history of it,
Who made it
And when
The bridge
Linking
Calcutta and Howrah
With engineering skill
And technology
And planning?
I see the bridge
Whenever passing by
And think of
Its history and planning,
Structure and hanging,
Replacing
The old pontoon bridge
With a new one
Lying in a suspended way
With balanced cantilever
And truss arch.
