How I Bought Immortality Poem by Chukwuma Adione

How I Bought Immortality

With my ears I heard
That immortality has come to the fore
On my carnal bed
I decided to become what I could never be, before
With my heart of hearts
All I did was to believe
It was like art
A path my foot cannot leave
With my mouth
I bought a life called immortality
With this mouth
I have laid hold on eternity
