How is it that I know your heart beat
Though it is not against mine
I feel the power of your gaze
when it is gone from my body and eyes
The air burns like your skin and
my lips taste of you
I can't remember your laugh
but your smile is so vivid
I long for the days I felt whole
Your passion engulfed me
and we matched everything
Your darkness bathed me in the light
When your pain touched mine
we understood alike
I became different and the same
knowing I'd never be alone again
How can I not stop loving you
with all the pieces you made of me
