A Midnight's Day Dream 07 Poem by Kira Bloom

A Midnight's Day Dream 07

Is it nightmare or dream I am encased in
The consequence of fate and destiny
Imprinted upon my very being
I hear the world
The very earth screaming
Still my silence is even more deafening
Caught between hunger and aching
This disguise is slipping
And the chaos devouring
Please I pray, take me away
Let me feel the cool silk of peace
Upon my burning soul and skin
The sun is maddening
The moon saddening
And I am battling
My hope fading
Please I pray, take me away
From this a midnight’s day dream
My heart seems to be pounding
As it lies silently breaking
My flaming eyes turn placid
To mask the never ending pain
Please I pray
Take me away
Let me find the stars
With out the clouds or lights blazing
How my eyes sting
How my body shakes
May I find calm in a warriors embrace
May I find love in the overrun garden of my shame
May I spread my tarnished wings,
And weave my own destiny
I pray, take me away from this,
A midnight’s day dream
