Horror Show Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Horror Show

No one should be heard saying,
They have tired of living anticipated...
Mundane and monotonous lives.
Not these days.
When we all have become unwilling participants,
In an ongoing horror show.
Right before our eyes.
Complete with intrigue, plots of mystery.
Smiling clowns dressed to impress.
Carrying brief cases,
Loaded with the latest deceptions.
Including taped tales of spies.
And these are the folks,
Elected to protect our lives.
With an assurance that our interests,
Are safe, respected and guaranteed free...
From incompetent leadership.
Never to think of treason and betrayal,
As tools to have us fight amongst ourselves.
