Himig ng pasko'y dumarating na
Ngunit ikaw na hinihintay wala pa
Kaya't pasko sa aki'y sasapit ba?
Pagkat ika'y nasa malayo pa

Simoy ng hangi'y lumalakas
Tibok ng puso'y bumibigat
Damdami'y laking kaba
Di alam kung ika'y makakasama pa

Pasko ko'y anong saya
Kung ikay makakapiling na
Ngunit ngayo'y nag-iisa
Lungkot aking nadarama

Nais kong makapiling ka
Ngayong paskong sasapit na
At itoy magiging kakaiba
Kung sa pasko'y andiyan ka

Kayat ako sana'y pagbigyan
Aking kahilingan sanay matupad
At kung ito'y aking maasam
Laking pasasalamat sayo'y ibibigay

poet Percy Bysshe Shelley

We are as clouds that veil the midnight moon;
How restlessly they speed, and gleam, and quiver,
Streaking the darkness radiantly!--yet soon
