He died, but then I knew he would
One night I wasn’t there
I loved him very much, you know
So sad it’s hard to bear

I kissed him and I said good-bye
I didn’t want to leave
I had to know, I knew I did
I had to go and grieve

I’m hoping now way up ahead
I’ll be with him again
I’ll keep him with me always


I wrote this in 1984 after losing my
husband.
