Hereafter…
Life should close like a book of poems
with no real end-in-sight!
Just a half-remembered mystery,
that once-was-a-friend when life did smite.
Life should close like a book of poems
owing nothing to-it-chum
other-than-a-modicum of laughter
or even a word to the wise in the hereafter.
