As I sit on the hill by the lake,
I dream,
I dream of a place far away
Where the sky is brilliant blue
The grass crisp green
And the water clear as diamonds
Mountain ranges that stretch as far as the imagination
I follow the plump rabbit,
My guide through this world of dreams
I lose my fears here
In a game of hide-and-seek
And live free
Free of life’s pains and trials
I feel as though I could stay here forever
Here everything is so clear,
Here everything seems so right and real
But alas,
No imagination can stay engaged forever,
This world of dreams will fade,
And life shall fall back into view
Choices will be heavy with consequences
Nothing will seem right,
Gloom will ensue
The sky will restore it’s foggy gray
The grass brown with death
Water run think with pollution
My rabbit friend, so gleeful,
Now gluttonous with greed
Ruined by this world of hate
Corrupt, soon dead
How I wish I could stay forever,
Here,
Here, on this hill by the lake,
And take up stake in this world of dreams
But alas,
No imagination can stay engaged forever
Here,
Here, on this hill by the lake
