Heartbreak City Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Heartbreak City

Rating: 4.5

Excuse me there, Do you know where broken hearts go?
When the heart weighs a ton, it's unbearable to move
I've got no map to tour the city for this trip
I'd wander around before I fall into slumber
Arrival at the love pains inn on hurt boulevard
My heart has turned the color blue
My eyes shall cloud and flood a stream
My feet have become weary
No strength in this body to fight this illness
Why must sickness be this strong?
pain is a wind that swept the city under
polluting any moving object in its wake
