Headless Generals Poem by Quazi Johirul Islam

Headless Generals

There are few headless Generals in the ablution unit.
An extreme noise in cantonment, who has done it?
How is it possible, who has that audacity?
It has been a grave issue, so many
committees are formed, tension torrent the roof.

Contentment among few
people, of course in a different den.

Shoot or hang to death, what
will be the sentence, ‘prepare the firing squad'
A roar has been exploded in the court room.
Excited faces of uniformed attorneys in
front of a uniformed judge.
After a long hearing the judge opened his mouth
‘where is the criminal? '
O yes, where is the criminal? And who is he?
‘Why the criminal has not yet been
identified? Where is he? ' Asked the Judge.
‘got him, here he is…he is the one
committed that severe crime,
has cut off the elite heads of Generals' saying this
couple of new uniformed
entered the court room with a poor guy tied
up his hands in back.

All eyes of the court room now
focused on the poor guy,
status of whom is few levels below than
the bloody civilians.

The wise judge can't wait anymore,
he just shut the moth of attorneys
by his rank and shouted,
‘why did you do that? Why did you cut off
the elite heads of Generals? '
‘Huzur' poor guy started crying,
Da Da Da, gun shot in firing squad…

‘if I wouldn't cut the heads off,
the bloody schedule-caste
would have peed on faces of the elite Generals.
To save the dignity of Generals
I have cut their heads off, Huzur.'
