Hate Poem by Rachel L. Z.

Hate

What makes me hate you?
The fact that you hid it?
All my life, you had me fooled.
I was baffled, now I'm angry.
You lied for so long.

What makes me hate you?
The fact that you told me at all?
I didn't want to know.
I was content in my comforting ignorance.
You tore my shield away,
Now I'm staring down the barrel of the truth.
I want it to stop.
You lied for so long, why couldn't you have kept it up?

What makes me hate you?
The fact that I can't hate you?
I want to.
You lied.
You broke my heart.
But you have always been there.
You're sorry, and I can't hate you.
I can't seem to muster it up.
I'm so pissed.
