Helplessness Poem by Rachel L. Z.

Helplessness

I don't know how to say it
'Cause I don't it'll turn out right
But you always look right through me
And I can't seem to sleep at night

You never can quite hear me
No matter how loud I speak
So maybe if I whisper
I will not feel as weak

Words that always soothed me
Have no effect on you
You stand there unchanged and
The cliches are coming true

My words get lost in a sea of voices
There's nothing special about mine
My words get lost and they cannot find you
Can you help them find a way?

Just when I think you're listening
You turn and hide your face
Have you any pity?
Can you save me from this place?

I feel I cannot trust you
When words fall on deaf ears
If you would try to see me
You could vanish all my fears

My words get lost in a sea of voices
There's nothing special about mine
My words get lost and they cannot find you
Can you help them find a way?

When you smile, my heart can't find a rhythm
When you say my name my feet can't keep to the floor
It makes no difference how long we talk
I always wish there would be more

My words get lost in a sea of voices
There's nothing special about mine
My words get lost and they cannot find you
Can you help them find a way?
