Harvest Love Poem by Hazel Durham

Harvest Love

Rating: 5.0

In the rural, green landscape of your birth place of County Offaly,
Driving down it's winding roads with the serenity of the Slieve Bloom mountains
Conquering the views from every angle,
Birds sing with a lyrical beauty

And the wind blowing over the bog-land seems to jangle,
Our love connects from the roots of it's soil,
We talk about our younger years when life was a tangle,
Of turbulent times trying to find our way,

Through an upheaval of surging emotions waiting for a bountiful harvest,
Always waiting for a better day,
I now swim with freedom in your soft blue eyes,
To discover there is our time and a better way,

We connect with a passion lit by flames of the harvest of our desires,
We bloom together in mid-life with an unquenchable thirst from the heat of our flaming fire,
A late harvest is borne with fruit delicious and sweet bursting with lust,

Our great need to fulfill our hearts journey in the light of our eyes,
As the skies above watch over us so thoughtful and wise,
To see our bountiful harvest of love, a beautiful truth,
Connecting my ancestry with your birth place in the beauty of our roots.

This poem puts a smile in an autumn heart! It is good for youngsters to know there still can be fire and passion in the later years of life. It is like wisdom harvests a reward and love becomes both compassion and passion, both blazing fire and warm ember. Love how you put these feelings in a physical setting in your homeland that is so much a part of your soul and your writing. I've never been to County Offaly or, Driving down it's winding roads with the serenity of the Slieve Bloom mountains Conquering the views from every angle, but you make me yearn to walk your land, Hazel Durham! Very very very good write! 10+

A beautiful poem capturing the essence of love as we grow older and mature. Many a line in the poem are breathtaking for e.g. I now swim with freedom in your soft blue eyes, To discover there is our time and a better way.'

As we sow, so we reap. Better to sow the seeds of love then the harvest will be love. Nicely composed with beautiful articulation of nature. Thanks for sharing. Regards. +++++++10

In this poem, i can see the red and blue tones...a mixture of happy and sad, and taste the bitter of coffee..still we love to that past...and i really like how you bring the story so sounding like a victory..a strength to observe and care :) ..nice as always :)
